MMBB Mourns the Passing of Esteemed Board
Member Darrel Arle Morf

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA (ABNS 7/29/25)—New York, NY — July 29, 2025 — It is
with profound sadness that MMBB Financial Services announces the passing of
our esteemed board member, Darrel Arle Morf, who entered eternal rest on
Thursday, July 10, following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He
passed peacefully at his home in Mount Vernon, Iowa, surrounded by his loving
family.

Darrel served MMBB with distinction, offering not only his legal expertise but also
a spirit of humility, wisdom, and unwavering faith. His contributions to MMBB and
the broader American Baptist family were marked by a deep commitment to
service, justice, and compassion.

A celebration of Darrel’s life was held on Monday, July 28 at 10:30 a.m. at
the Church on Northland (First Baptist Church—Church of the Brethren) in
Cedar Rapids, Iowa. https://www.cedarmemorial.com/Obituary/2025/Jul/Darrel-A-
Morf/

Darrel’s legacy is one of faithful leadership and generous service. In addition to
his work with MMBB, he served on numerous boards including the Hall Perrine
Foundation, Mercy Hospital, the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library
Foundation, and the University of Iowa Law School Foundation. He also
served on the General Board of American Baptist Churches USA and the
Board of American Baptist Home Mission Societies. In addition, he was a
long-time member of the Mount Vernon Lions Club and a beloved figure in his
local community.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Middie, their three sons and daughters-in-
law, and nine grandchildren, who were the light of his life. His presence, wisdom,
and warmth will be deeply missed by all who had the joy of knowing him.
Memorial gifts may be directed to First Baptist Church—Church of the
Brethren or the Mercy Hospital Foundation.
MMBB invites the community to join us in holding Darrel’s family in prayer during
this time of loss and in giving thanks for a life so richly lived in service to God and
to others.
