ABCUSA Announces Clergy Disaster Relief Grant

KING OF PRUSSIA, PA (ABNS 6/5/25)—American Baptist Churches USA is pleased to announce the availability of Clergy Disaster Relief Grants. These grants are designed to provide pastoral support during times of crisis caused by natural or human-made disasters.

The purpose of this grant is to assist clergy who have experienced personal hardship as a result of a disaster. Funds may be used to cover direct, disaster-related expenses such as housing repairs, essential transportation needs, or temporary relocation.

“ABCUSA is blessed to launch the Clergy Disaster Relief Grant Initiative, which will support clergy experiencing loss and stress due to a disaster. These grants are part of ABCUSA ongoing ministry efforts to journey with our clergy and congregations as well as to broaden and deepen our relationships,” said Rev. Dr. Gina C. Jacobs-Strain, general secretary of American Baptist Churches USA.

Eligible applicants must be ordained or licensed clergy affiliated with ABCUSA and must demonstrate a specific, documented need directly related to a disaster. Grant awards will range from $500 to $1,500, and funds will be disbursed directly to service providers.

Applications will be accepted electronically from June 5, 2025, through September 5, 2025. Grants will be awarded by October 1, 2025.
