American Baptist Women in Ministry Celebrates International Women’s Day, Women’s History Month

VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 3/8/23)—American Baptist Women in Ministry (ABWIM) is excited to celebrate International Women’s Day (March 8) and Women’s History Month (March) with a release of video recordings from the worship sessions held at the 2022 “Radical. Redeemed. Ready.” conference celebrating ministering women, June 15-18, 2022, at the Green Lake Conference Center in Green Lake, Wis.

“Radical. Redeemed. Ready.” was a celebration of women ministerial leaders through many years of ministry. The event, held by the American Baptist Churches USA Office of the General Secretary and ABWIM, included recognition of the 40th Anniversary of the Women in Ministry Project, now known as American Baptist Women in Ministry (ABWIM). The first gathering of women at Green Lake was held in 1980, and the Women in Ministry Project formally began in 1982 with Rev. Dr. Margaret Cowden as the first Project Director.

We are excited to publicly share for the first time, the evening worship session recordings from the event!

“We journeyed together celebrating our radical past, transformed by the redemptive movement of the Spirit amongst us and ready to move forward into a future in which all God’s gifts in all God’s people are able to be fully accessed, utilized and embraced!” said Rev. Dr. Patricia Mercer Hernandez, associate general secretary for Women in Ministry.

“We are thrilled to share these worship recordings with you, and hope that you will be re-energized in your ministry through viewing these sessions. Above all, we join with you in celebrating International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month this March!”
