Rev. Dr. Lee B. Spitzer, General Secretary of American Baptist Churches USA, returned to the American Baptist Churches Mission Center on Friday, March 1 for his first day back to work after an extended time out of the office.  Following a morning meeting of the National Executive Council, Dr. Spitzer was welcomed back by ABCUSA Office of the General Secretary staff at a luncheon in his honor.

As he returned to the office, Dr. Spitzer expressed his excitement for the ministry opportunities and events to come, such as the upcoming 2019 Biennial Mission Summit, June 21-23, 2019 in Virginia Beach, Va.

“It feels great to be back with my teammates in the Office of the General Secretary,” said Spitzer. “I am looking forward to resuming my pastoral work on behalf of our American Baptist family, and believe that exciting times are ahead for us as a spiritual movement. I can’t wait to see everyone at the upcoming Biennial Mission Summit in Virginia Beach!”

ABCUSA Vice President Dean Parker welcomed General Secretary Spitzer back to the office on behalf of the Board of General Ministries of American Baptist Churches USA. Parker referenced Colossians 3:17, And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the LORD Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him, saying, “All that we have done, all that you have done, we do in the name of Jesus.”
