$10,000 Match Offered by Christian Community Credit Union for Online Masters of Theological Studies Program

VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 2/7/19)—International Ministries (IM) is excited to announce that all gifts up to $10,000 given to support the online Masters of Theological Studies (MTS) program WILL BE DOUBLED thanks to a generous grant from Christian Community Credit Union. The donation comes from the Credit Union’s “Card that Gives to Mission” program. To date, the Credit Union has donated over $4.7 million dollars for missions and ministry projects.

Christian Community Credit Union, a long-time partner of IM through the IM Visa card,  provided this matching opportunity out of their desire to support the work of the Lord through IM. The Credit Union sees the value in providing seminary-level training to pastors who serve in Latin American cultures who otherwise would not have access to educational opportunities such as this.

“We’re excited to partner with IM in supporting seminary students as they prepare to become pastors and church leaders,” said Marji Hughes, chief operating officer of Christian Community Credit Union. “It’s a blessing to be part of what God is doing among the Latin American evangelical community through the MTS program.”

The groundbreaking MTS in Latino/a Ministries, launched in 2016, is an innovative program designed to prepare Spanish-speaking students for thoughtful and productive holistic ministry and leadership in churches, organizations, and community life in Latin America.

Latin America and the Global South have become the center of growth in the Evangelical Church in the last 15 to 20 years. The reality of such lightning fast growth is that there is a desperate need to provide training for pastors and leaders in the church so that it can continue to grow and maintain healthy faith communities for decades to come.

With rapid urbanization in what is considered the Majority World, there are very few resources. Many churches are suffering because of lack of quality theological education to strengthen the church. The online MTS in Latino/a Ministries addresses this growing need for training pastors and leaders in the Latin American Evangelical Community whose growth has also encouraged Latino/a pastors in the United States.

While quality training for church leaders in Latin America and the Caribbean is hard to find, funding post-graduate education with the scarce resources is even harder. In response, IM, in collaboration with Palmer Theological Seminary and the American Baptist Home Mission Societies, developed this theological educational program that is one of the most innovative of its kind.
Today, you are invited to participate in an opportunity to help fund the MTS program and have your gift doubled.

Please act quickly. Gifts will be matched up to the $10,000 grant from Christian Community Credit Union has been met. However, you can give ongoing support for MTS scholarships anytime.
