American Baptist Women’s Ministries Calls for Applications for National Officer Positions

VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 10/5/18)—American Baptist Women’s Ministries calls for applications for national officer positions for the national board of AB Women’s Ministries. American Baptist Women’s Ministries has a long heritage of being on the forefront of mission and ministry with women and girls worldwide. From its roots to today, AB Women’s Ministries has addressed critical issues such as sex trafficking, poverty, equal voice, safety and security, access to clean water and other natural resources, leadership development, and spreading the good news of Jesus Christ. The national officers of AB Women’s Ministries provide a key role in empowering women and girls to live into the fullness of who they are created by God to be.

There are three positions to be filled for the 2019-2022 term: AB GIRLS Coordinator, Coordinator of Mission with Women and Girls, and Coordinator of the Midwestern Section. Applicants do not apply for a specific position; rather, they complete an application form for serving as a national officer. The nominating committee reviews all applications and matches the best candidates to each open position. Descriptions of all positions and a downloadable application form can be found on the AB Women’s Ministries website at www.abwomensministries.org. The nominating committee will be accepting applications until October 20, 2018, for the 2019-2022 term. Applications are kept on file for three years; for those who are interested in being considered for future positions, they may submit applications at any time.

“Every board member must have a deep commitment to the core values of American Baptist Women’s Ministries and the necessary gifts and skills to ensure that AB Women’s Ministries mission and vision is strategically and financially sound. It is essential that the national board be an expression of AB Women’s Ministries all over the U.S., Puerto Rico, and beyond so that we can be acutely attuned to the diversity of issues and concerns that women negotiate daily. We are praying that applicants are listening to God’s voice and will have a demonstrated passion for empowering woman and girls through AB Women’s Ministries’ programs, initiatives, fundraising, and events. Moreover, to serve on this board,  passion must be accompanied by experience and a sense of urgency to sustain a relevant ministry that is Christ-centered. We are excited as we wait to see the gifts God will send to our national board in this new season,” says Rev. Gina Jacobs-Strain, executive director of American Baptist Women’s Ministries.

American Baptist Women’s Ministries is a Christ-centered ministry with a commitment to encourage and empower women and girls to serve God in their churches, communities and throughout the world.

American Baptist Churches USA is one of the most diverse Christian denominations today, with approximately 5,000 congregations comprised of 1.3 million members, across the United States and Puerto Rico, all engaged in God’s mission around the world.
