Registration Open for Hear the Call Weekend Retreat

VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 5/11/17)—The Hear the Call weekend retreat is a high intensity three-day experience hosted by International Ministries (IM) for anyone considering a call to global mission. In the past six years, dozens of people have participated and 11 so far have gone on to global mission service. The retreat will be held on August 18–20, 2017, at the Green Lake Conference Center in Green Lake, Wisconsin. Registration is now open.

“Hear the Call is a highly relational and worshipful experience designed to help participants explore God’s call to cross-cultural mission,” says the Rev. Jim Bell, IM director for vocational development. “Participants will be introduced to IM’s principles and practices for mission. Bible study, worship, guided personal reflection and face-to-face conversation with global servants and domestic staff about the work and life of an IM global servant make this a deeply meaningful and helpful experience for individuals and families considering a call to global mission service.”

By the end of the retreat, participants will have a clear understanding of the next steps in the process and a deeper understanding of IM’s culture and missiology.

“I’m so glad we took the step and went to the retreat,” said Amanda Good, 2015 Hear the Call participant and future IM missionary in Hungary. “It’s so valuable to begin exploring God’s call. This retreat will help anyone who is considering a vocational calling as they seek the will of the Lord.”

“Meeting the missionaries was really an amazing experience,” said Becky and Larry Stanton, 2012 Hear the Call participants and current IM missionaries in Hungary. “They were kind, enthusiastic and informative! Their willingness to share frankly from their lives was the game changer for us.”

Registration for the event is $80. Housing is $255 for couples and $127.50 for single individuals. Meals for the entire weekend are $93.25 per person (plus tax). Limited scholarship assistance may be available; those who are interested may contact Jim Bell at jim.bell@internationalministries.org for information.
