Prayers Requested Following Attacks

Our hearts are saddened by the events that occurred in Paris, France, and Beirut, Lebanon.

Please hold in prayer the families and friends of those killed and all of those injured in the attacks in Paris and in Beirut. In the Paris attacks, at least 129 people were killed, with over 300 wounded, according to the Associated Press.

“We join with every voice condemning the barbarism of ISIS in its attack on Paris and its war of terror against all who fail to accept its twisted and hate-filled ideology. It has targeted Christians and Shiite Muslims alike in Syria and the Middle East,”  said American Baptist Churches General Secretary A. Roy Medley. “As followers of Jesus, we fully join with Muslims and others who seek peace, defend religious liberty, and work for the common good of all in solidarity. We firmly believe the hatred and evil that ISIS embraces will be the seeds of its own destruction.”

Medley has previously said:
“Terror attacks are antithetical to God’s will. There can never be a credible justification for any such act. We utterly condemn acts of violence and find them heinous and cowardly.”

Please hold the victims and their families in your prayers.
