VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 2/10/15)—Congregations, regions and community ministries related to American Baptist Churches USA are invited to apply for 2015 Justice for Children Initiative Children in Poverty (CiP) grants from American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS) for support of projects that address children’s needs.
At least 10 grants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 will be awarded.
While projects addressing access to quality public school education, quality health care and livable wages will be considered, primary attention will be given to programs that focus on anti-bullying efforts and cultivate conflict-resolution and nonviolent communication skills among children and/or parents. The deadline is April 29, 2015.
This is the seventh year that ABHMS has awarded CiP grants aimed at helping the millions of children growing up throughout the United States with inadequate resources to nurture their God-given potential. Since beginning the CiP grant process in 2009, ABHMS has distributed more than $224,000 in grants with the help of donors’ matching contributions to the CiP grant fund.
To access the grant application packet, visit http://www.abhms.org/ > Ministries & Programs > Children in Poverty, or contact the Rev. Lisa Harris Lee, national coordinator, ABHMS Justice for Children Initiative, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 1-800-222-3872, x2158.
Applications can be submitted online or printed and sent by postal mail. No applications will be accepted via email or fax. Applications must be received by or postmarked to ABHMS by April 29, 2015.
