Immerse, the 2012 National Gathering of American Baptist Youth, met this summer from July 24-28 in Washington, DC. For an update about the conference, click here.
General Secretary Roy Medley was able to visit and address the youth attending the gathering. Speaking to the Immerse attendees, Medley called for the youth to be “maladjusted” to a culture that idolizes, power, wealth and sensuality and instead follow Christ who cared for the poor, the outcast, the stranger. He thanked them for the blessing they had already been that day to the DC area as they participated in a variety of service projects throughout the area. Some of those photos of youth in service can be seen at the link, above.
