Troy Weyenberg Appointed Director of Camp Grow Ministries

GREEN LAKE, WI (ABNS 7/12/12)—Green Lake Conference Center is pleased to announce that Troy Weyenberg has accepted the call to become the next Director of Camp Grow Ministries. Paul Ethington and Troy will work together toward a smooth transition during the remainder of July.

Troy brings strong leadership, management and sales experience from his current role as the owner and general contractor for Weyenberg Builders Remodeling Solutions near Appleton, WI. He also brings extensive volunteer youth ministry and camping leadership experience to the position. Troy is married to Stacy and they have six children between the ages of 12 and two years old.

Troy says, “When I look back at my life, I see how God has prepared me for this position. I have had the privilege of serving in leadership roles in youth ministry and at camps. My experience as a business owner and in carpentry will be highly beneficial as well. It was during my time serving in youth ministry that I felt a call from the Lord to serve Him full-time someday. It has just been a matter of Him orchestrating the details of my life and His timing.”

Ben Mott, President of Green Lake Conference Center and Camp Grow Ministries, says, “Our selection process clearly revealed that God has called Troy to be the new Director. He combines a businessman’s head and carpenter’s hands with a passionate heart to serve God and young people. He inherits a wonderful facility and ministry team built under Paul Ethington’s leadership. We are excited to watch the Lord move through Troy’s leadership in the next chapter of Camp Grow as it helps thousands more people from both the American Baptist and wider Christian family to “Find God’s Purpose for their Life.”

Camp Grow is a Christian camp for children, youth and families located across the lake from Green Lake Conference Center. Bordered by Green Lake and Spring Lake, the camp encompasses 40 acres of forests, fields and wetlands. Camp Grow is managed by Green Lake Conference Center.
