Green Lake Conference Center Announces Search for President/CEO

VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 6/3/11)—The Board of Directors of Green Lake Conference Center (ABA) is seeking a unique individual to serve as its new president and chief executive officer. Ken Giacoletto will be stepping down in December after eighteen successful years. Tom Jones, chair of the board, said, “We are excited about the amazing range of opportunities that we face, and we look forward to an important period of discernment as we choose our new leader.”
About the Position
“We are looking for an executive who can balance the unique opportunities and challenges of a broad conference schedule and who will also be comfortable leading a significant hotel and food service operation,” said Jones. “The board is particularly looking for candidates who are spiritually mature and who have strong visionary skills. Special emphasis will be placed on this individual having well-developed integrative strengths and the ability to build a positive, mutually-supportive culture.”

About Green Lake
Jones continued, “Green Lake Conference Center is a premier Christian conference and leadership-training facility located in south central Wisconsin. Our mission is to provide a special Christian environment of service, equipping, renewal and networking that helps to produce more and stronger disciples and churches. Founded by the American Baptists in 1943, the Conference Center now reaches out to partner with American Baptists and a wide range of other Christian organizations to build God’s kingdom.”

“We offer transformational conferences for pastors, potential church planters, lay leaders, youth and families. We host many different Christian groups and organizations from other denominations who are responsible for their own conference design and content,” said Jones. “We also enjoy serving a wide variety of groups who do not have a religious purpose, including university retreats, school environmental education groups, NGO’s coming for training meetings, and many others. We are a favorite location for family reunions and vacationers.”

Over 30,000 guests annually attend over 400 individual conferences and events. Green Lake’s extraordinary facilities include 30,000 square feet of meeting space, nearly 1,000 acres of woodlands, meadows and lakeside paths, and 12 miles of quaint country roads. The grounds include one of the largest native prairies in Wisconsin. The Center is operated with 300 paid and volunteer staff members and an $8 million budget.
