VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 1/25/11)—Peter and Peggy Wolf have been named as the 2010 recipients of the Judson Press Ministry Award. The Wolfs, members of Bayview Baptist Church in Milwaukee in the American Baptist Churches of Wisconsin region, have been faithful and longtime partners with Judson Press as volunteers, booksellers, and friends. Publisher Laura Alden noted, “The Wolfs have supported Judson Press by staffing our book tables at a number of Green Lake Conference Center events, ABC of Wisconsin conferences, and even the ABCUSA biennial. They have been key advocates and valued partners in our ministry.”
The Judson Press Ministry Award recognizes individuals “who share Judson’s publishing ministry in a significant way with a ready and Christian spirit and for the joy of service and contribution.” The award was first presented in 2007, with the American Baptist Home Mission Societies’ employee Victoria Goff, National Coordinator, Volunteer Services as the recipient. Recipients since have included Wilda “Wendy” Morris in 2008 and Rev. Dr. Samuel B. McKinney in 2009.
The Wolfs will receive a certificate and starting with the Spring 2011 publishing season will receive a free copy of all Judson Press books. In addition, their names will be inscribed on a permanent plaque that hangs in the Mission Center at Valley Forge.
Founded in 1824, Judson Press—a publishing ministry of the American Baptist Home Mission Societies, American Baptist Churches USA—produces Christ-centered leadership resources for the transformation of persons, congregations, communities and cultures.
