Associate General Secretary for Congregational and Pastoral Effectiveness Rev. Dr. Kevin A. Walden served local churches effectively for over 30 years. As a local pastor he worked to equip people to share their faith and to use their gifts and serve their communities. Those experiences led him to serve pastors on the regional level as Regional Pastor with Pastoral Leaders in the American Baptist Churches of Pennsylvania and Delaware region, developing educational opportunities, leadership learning communities and other ministries which fostered personal and professional growth.Walden is passionate about Transformational Spiritual Leadership, a style of leadership which aims to assist pastors and congregational leaders work together as they discern God’s will for their unique church in their community.Walden is a discipleship product of First Baptist Church of Omaha, Nebraska; and a graduate of two American Baptist schools, Ottawa University (BA) and Central Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div.). He also completed work at Fuller Theological Seminary (D.Min.).

Walden is married to Melody Walden, who serves as pastor of an American Baptist congregation. In addition to being active together in ministry on both local and regional levels, Walden’s extended family has served the Lord in the American Baptist Churches for generations as pastors and missionaries.
