Nominations Invited for Mowbray Ecumenical Award

American Baptist Churches USA seeks nominations for the Luke Mowbray Ecumenical Award, which recognizes an individual for outstanding ecumenical work at the local, state, national or international level, either as a volunteer or paid professional. This award will be presented at the American Baptist Churches USA (ABCUSA) 2015 Biennial Mission Summit, June 26-28, in Overland Park, Kansas. The award winner will be selected by the ABCUSA Committee on Christian Unity and Interfaith Relations. The deadline for nominations is January 30, 2015.

The award will be given to an individual who either by sustained performance or special achievement has advanced the cause of ecumenism. The award is specifically limited to an assigned area of program that falls within the basic goals of the American Baptist Churches USA. The individual receiving this award must be a member of an American Baptist church.

Nominations must include a nomination form and three items of supporting material. Following the January 30 deadline, the Committee on Christian Unity and Interfaith Relations will review the nominations and select a recipient. Following the vote of the Committee, the recipient will be notified. All those making nominations for this award also will receive the name of the chosen recipient. Those nominees not selected will receive a certificate of recognition.

Nominations for the 2015 award can be submitted by email, fax or postal mail. Nominations are due by January 30, 2015.
