Judson Press Titles Named Finalists for 2013 Illumination Awards

VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 1/13/14)—God’s Graffiti: Inspiring Stories for Teens by Romal Tune and Missional Preaching: Engage * Embrace * Transform by Al Tizon have been named finalists for the 2013 Illumination Awards. The finalists were selected from more than 300 entries in 16 categories.

God’s Graffiti, selected as a Gold medalist in the Self Help/Recover category, has been praised by Christian leaders, academics, and authors involved with urban and youth ministry. The book has been commended for using the power of biblical and personal narrative to underscore God’s loving grace in situations of extremity. Both engaging and inspirational, God’s Graffiti offers readers renewed hope and vision.

Nominated for a Silver medal in Ministry/Mission, Missional Preaching combines preaching with the aims of the missional church and takes an in-depth look at the integral relationship between the two. Also a winner of the 2013 Outreach Award, this lively, holistic and compelling resource helps leaders think about how to shape people in missional thinking and practice, through the work of preaching.

“We are pleased that these books are receiving such great recognition,” said Judson’s Publisher Laura Alden. “It is a privilege to be partners with the Rev. Tune and Dr. Tizon–and with hundreds of other Judson Press authors in their wide-reaching ministries.”

The Illumination Book Awards are designed to honor and bring increased recognition to the year’s best new titles written and published with a Christian worldview. Award winners are chosen by experts from the fields of education, clergy, book production and bookselling. Gold, Silver and Bronze medals are awarded in each category.
