Stewardship
Faithful disciples of Jesus Christ live with the knowledge that all of life comes from God and belongs to God, and we are entrusted with its use and care. When we consider evangelism to be the process that helps other people give their lives to Christ, then we can also think of stewardship as the process to live our lives for Christ. As faithful disciples learn to be stewards, we practice a lifestyle of stewardship.
American Baptists are responding to the vision and the challenge of NEW LIFE 2010–starting 1,010 new churches, reaching 1,000,010 new believers, and vitalizing a multitude of caring ministries–by 2010. This massive effort requires a financial commitment from our people and our churches. God has given us this vision, and God has given us the resources to make it a reality. Ministry and money go hand in hand. If we want to see new life sprouting up out of our ministry, then we will need STEWARDS FOR NEW LIFE.
