How do we arrange to have mission speakers?

1. Contact your regional minister of mission support or executive minister with a request, preferably at least four months prior to the date of the event.
2. The regional minister of mission support submits your mission speakers request to the denominational mission speakers director for endorsement and processing.
3. The mission speakers director assigns a mission speaker, and then sends confirmation notices to the speaker, the minister of mission support, and the ministry contact person.

Are requests for mission speakers ever turned down?

Not if mission speakers are assigned to events upon request and budget is available. Consideration is also given to the number of speakers assigned to a region in a calendar year. We try to schedule speakers several times in the same trip rather than one-day assignments.

Talk to a Missionary

If you can’t schedule a face-to-face visit with a missionary or mission speaker, use “Phone-A-Mission” for a 15-20 minute call to a domestic or overseas missionary or ministry staff.

How do we schedule a Phone-A-Mission?

1. Contact your regional minister of mission support with your request, which is forwarded to the denominational mission speakers director.
2. The mission speakers director contacts a missionary for availability and sends confirmation to the minister of mission support and speaker.
3. The church receives speaker information, date, time, and phone number.
4. The church forwards questions to the missionary.
5. Prayer cards or other information given to the church upon request
6. The church sets up speaker phone equipment and makes the call on the given time and day. Lines are connected and both parties talk.
7. Mail phone bill to American Baptist Churches USA, World Mission Support, Valley Forge, PA 19482.
