Suzan Johnson Cook
Rev. Dr. Suzan “Sujay” Johnson Cook is a presidential advisor, pastor, theologian, author, activist, and academic who served as the U.S. Ambassador at Large for International Religious Freedom (2011 to 2013). As Senior Pastor of New York City’s Mariner’s Temple, she inaugurated the “Wednesday Lunch Hour of Power.” She was the first woman to be elected president of the Hampton University Minister’s Conference and the first African-American woman to be ordained as an American Baptist pastor.
