• Profiles in Black: Phat Facts for Teens by Marvin A. McMickle won in the African American Studies category;
• Addicted to Hurry: Spiritual Strategies for Slowing Down by Kirk Byron Jones won in the Audio Book: Spiritual category; and
• Crazy Faith: Ordinary People, Extraordinary Lives by Susan K. Williams Smith was a finalist in the Religion: Christian Inspiration category.

This is the third national award for Profiles in Black, which in September was recognized with the bronze medal in the Multicultural Non-Fiction – Young Adult category of the 2009 Moonbeam
