VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 4/15/10)—Alan Musoke has been named the new associate general secretary of finance/treasurer effective April 16, 2010. During a conference call with the American Baptist Churches USA (ABCUSA) General Board Executive Committee on Wednesday, April 14, Musoke was elected to serve in this role.
Since 2004, Musoke has served as the controller/assistant treasurer for ABCUSA. He is a Certified Public Accountant with 20 years of financial management and accounting experience.
"It has been my privilege to work closely with Alan for the past three plus years,” said Lloyd Hamblin, former associate general secretary of finance/treasurer. “During that time I have been impressed, not only with his technical knowledge and financial acumen, but also with him as a person. Alan's ability, integrity and faith will serve him well. I am confident he will be a wonderful asset for ABC as he serves in the role of treasurer."
Prior to working with ABCUSA, Musoke worked with two nonprofit organizations. He served for three years as Controller for Orbis International, an international non-profit humanitarian organization operating in six countries. He worked as chief financial officer for YMWCA of Newark & Vicinity from 1994-2001, helping the organization to change and grow. Musoke received an MBA in Finance and BS in Accounting from Rutgers University.

In this position as the associate general secretary of finance/treasurer, Alan will serve as treasurer of two related organizations: 588 Associates LLC and the American Baptist Computer Center. American Baptist Computer Information Services (ABCIS) and Traffic Services will also be a part of his responsibilities.
