VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 4/9/10)—April 30 is the last day to submit applications for Children in Poverty grants. If you are part of a congregation, NAP Christian center or other community mission that serves children, consider how extra funds could support your ministry.
In 2009, 15 grants were awarded to American Baptist congregations and organizations to strengthen their work with children in their communities.
Applications that support initiatives promoting education, health care or developing higher parent income will receive the most attention. Last year’s grant recipients included grassroots projects staffed by volunteers as well as more established, institutional projects complete with budgets and paid staff.
Determination of awards will be made by July 1; recipients will receive funds by August 1.
