Chief Minister Reddy Dies In Helicopter Crash

A champion of the Baptist and broader Christian community in the Indian province of Andhra, Chief Minister Dr. Y. S. Rajasekhar Reddy died in a tragic helicopter crash on Sept 2nd, 2009. Baptist leaders across India and the United States have expressed their condolences for the sudden loss.

On Monday, September 21, or the Sunday preceding it, churches and communities throughout the world are invited to join together in prayer and observance for the International Day of Prayer for Peace. For 2009, the World Council of Churches (WCC) has chosen a theme focusing on the Caribbean and an idea of "One Love: Building a Peaceful Caribbean."
