ABHS Executive Director to be Inducted into Martin Luther King, Jr., College of Ministers and Laity

VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 4/4/18)—The American Baptist Historical Society (ABHS) is pleased to announce that its executive director, the Rev. Dr. Priscilla E. Eppinger, will be inducted into the Martin Luther King, Jr., College of Ministers and Laity at Morehouse College.  ABHS invites its friends and supporters in the Atlanta area to attend the Crown Forum Induction Ceremony where Dr. Eppinger and others will be honored on Thursday, April 5.

The Martin Luther King, Jr., College of Ministers and Laity was established in 1985 by Dr. Lawrence Edward Carter, Sr., Dean of the Martin Luther King, Jr., International Chapel, and Dr. Hugh Morris Gloster, Sr., seventh president of Morehouse College, to honor individuals whose life and work exemplify the ethical ideals promoted by the College’s most prominent alumnus, Martin Luther King, Jr.  Nominees to the College of Ministers and Laity have demonstrated and are evolving toward great achievement in their chosen vocations, a profound commitment to their community and society, the planet, and the cosmos, and are living their lives according to a high standard of cosmopolitan ethical principles.

The Benjamin Elijah Mays Crown Forum Induction Ceremony will take place at 11:00am on Thursday, April 5, 2018, in the Martin Luther King International Chapel at Morehouse College.  The Rev. Dr. Marvin Andrew McMickle, President, Director of the Doctor of Ministry Program, and Professor of African-American Religious Studies at Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School will address the gathering.  The world-renowned Morehouse College Glee Club will sing.  The ceremony is open to the public.
