ABHMS Executive Director to Moderate Panel at BJC Symposium

VALLEY FORGE, PA (10/31/16)—Dr. Jeffrey Haggray, executive director of American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS), will moderate the panel discussion during “Religious Liberty and the Black Church”—a Baptist Joint Committee (BJC) for Religious Liberty symposium—on Nov. 10 at Howard University School of Divinity and School of Law, Washington, D.C.

The lecture and faculty response will be held at 11:30 a.m. in Moot Court Room in Houston Hall. The “Lunch and Learn” panel discussion will be held at 1 p.m. in the dining hall.

The event will feature the Rev. Dr. Raphael G. Warnock, pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Atlanta, spiritual home of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The response will be led by Dr. Harold Dean Trulear, director of the Healing Communities Prison Ministry and Prisoner Reentry Project of the Philadelphia Leadership Foundation as well as a Judson Press author.

Co-panelists are the Hon. Alex Williams Jr., founder and chief executive officer of the Judge Alexander Williams Jr. Center for Education, Justice, and Ethics at the University of Maryland, and a former U.S. District Court judge for the District of Maryland; and Dr. Barbara Williams-Skinner, president of the Maryland-based Skinner Leadership Institute, and a former director of the Congressional Black Caucus.
