Judson Press Title Helps Churches Fund the Vision
VALLEY FORGE, PA (4/15/16)—Judson Press, the publishing arm of American Baptist Home Mission Societies, releases a giver-centered guide to growing generosity in churches. Beyond Stewardship: A Church Guide to Generous Giving Campaigns brings the extensive fundraising experience of authors John Zehring and Kate Jagger to bear in this practical resource for Christian churches and their leaders.
Beyond Stewardship applies the best principles of fundraising to the annual giving or stewardship campaign in local congregations. Emphasizing the individual givers and the act of giving as integral to spiritual life, this book goes beyond typical stewardship models to celebrate the generosity already demonstrated by church members and to invite further giving based on that generous past.
Zehring and Jagger use a collaborative paradigm that engages leadership across the church’s life. They offer four interlocking strategies for a successful annual giving campaign: concentric circles of commitment, personal visits, public witness, and direct mail. Churches that employ these strategies will grow the spirit of generosity and raise a community of givers.
Includes an appendix full of practical tools and resources, plus a bonus section about special purpose campaigns!
