VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 10/17/13)—The Ministers Council has announced that it will partner with Christian Community Credit Union (CCCU) to provide a unique way to help sustain and serve the needs of American Baptist ministers. As the card issuer of the International Ministries (IM) Platinum Rewards Visa, CCCU will donate $50 to The Ministers Council and $50 to International Ministries for each new IM credit card approved with The Ministers Council promotion code, 9001. To date, the Credit Union has given over $3.5 million to missions and ministry projects through its “Cards that Give to Missions” program.

Debora Jackson, executive director of The Ministers Council. “The Credit Union’s donation will help us to better equip our leaders to be more effective in their ministries so that they can in turn better serve their communities.”
The Ministers Council is developing a number of initiatives targeted at improving clergy health. These efforts include expanding the Together in Ministry program which encourages clergy to gather in peer groups; Ministerial Renewal retreats for new clergy in their first five years, wounded leaders who have been hurt in ministry, and the 7R’s of Sanctuary, a retreat designed to renew and help ministers realize leadership effectiveness.
