ABHMS Staff To Present At Urban Mission Conference

VALLEY FORGE, PA (ABNS 8/15/12)—American Baptist Home Mission Societies (ABHMS) announces that three of its staff members are slated to present at the “God in the City” conference that it is co-sponsoring Sept. 28-30 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Vallejo, Calif.

Presented by Friendship’s Missions and Evangelism Ministry, the conference will focus on mission and evangelism in the urban setting. Workshops will include “Missions and Evangelism Today and Tomorrow,” “Beat the Street,” “Women’s Ministry Refined for the Urban Context” and “Establishing a Latino Ministry within Your Church.” In addition to worship, the event will feature mission and evangelism through the arts. Host is the Rev. Dante Quick, Friendship’s senior pastor.

ABHMS presenters are Dr. Aidsand F. Wright-Riggins III, executive director; the Rev. Fela Barrueto, national coordinator of Prisoner Re-entry and Aftercare Ministry; and the Rev. Salvador Orellana, national coordinator of Intercultural Ministries and Latino Ministries strategist.
