Ben Mott Installed as President/CEO of Green Lake Conference Center

GREEN LAKE, WI (ABNS 6/16/12)—Benjamin C. K. Mott was installed as President/CEO of the American Baptist Assembly/Green Lake Conference Center (GLCC) on Saturday, June 16, 2012. The installation service was held at Morehouse Hall in Bauer Lodge, and was followed by a reception.

The Board of General Ministries of American Baptist Churches USA (ABCUSA) meeting, taking place at the GLCC, coincided with the installation service. American Baptist General Secretary Roy Medley, President Ruth Clark, Vice President Don Ng, Associate General Secretaries Leo Thorne and Jeff Woods, and other ABCUSA leaders and Board members attended the service.

Medley led the installation, saying, “Ben, I extend to you on behalf of American Baptists our best wishes as you lead this ministry that has served as a spiritual home for us since its founding, a place where we have memorialized those who have faithfully served us as a denomination, a place where countless have found instruction and inspiration for service to Christ, his church and the world. I add my own personal prayer that God might prosper you and the ministry of Green Lake as you extend to all the welcome of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

The Board of Directors of the American Baptist Assembly/Green Lake Conference Center announced on October 3, 2011, that they had selected Ben Mott as their new President and Chief Executive Officer. Tom Jones, chair of the Board, said, “This is an extraordinary time for Green Lake, and we anticipate that Ben will lead us in new and innovative ways.”

Mott began his duties on December 1, 2011. Former President/CEO Ken Giacoletto retired after 18 years on November 30, 2011.
About the New President/CEO
Mott has served as Vice President of Marketing at Green Lake since 2002. He holds a B.A. in History from Durham University in England and an M.A. in History from Claremont Graduate University in California. He is married and has four children.

Mott commented on his selection, “I am honored and excited to be called to lead Green Lake in its next chapter of ministry. We are wonderfully positioned to serve pastors, churches and ministries both from within the American Baptist Churches USA and among the wider Christian family. We will stand side-by-side with these organizations as they respond to the challenges and opportunities they face.”
